CAUSES

We partner financially (or give generously or support financially and prayerfully)  from our tithes to the following:  (We could say 16%- but that might be TMI?- or…?)

Globally (to support__ needs- let me know if you want me to fill this in?):  Week of Compassion, CROP Walk, World Central Kitchen

Locally  (to support__ needs- let me know if you want me to fill this in?):   Vine Maple Place, Catholic Community Services, Kent Food Bank, Monday Night Supper, as well as (a) Kent elementary school (Betty or Margaret would know better if it is 1 or 2 schools)  (we also support other organizations, but not as consistently)

  • As the relief, refugee, and development mission fund of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ),
Week of Compassion works with partners to alleviate suffering throughout the world.

  • No one in this world should be hungry. That's why the CROP Hunger Walk is more than just a yearly gathering. It's a movement that's 55 years strong, made up of compassionate people in more than 500 communities across the U.S.

The steps we take - and the funds we raise together - will provide life-saving support including emergency food and resources, along with the seeds, tools and programs that will help families feed themselves in the future.

Recruit a team of family and friends to join a CROP Hunger Walk in your community. Every step and every donation ends hunger!

  • WCK is first to the frontlines, providing meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises.

  • Vine Maple Place aims to end homelessness in South King County. The need is great – over 400+ calls each month are received from desperate families who need help.

  • Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services of Western Washington are outreaches of the Catholic Church in Western Washington. Rooted in the Gospel message of love and hope, we recognize the sacredness and dignity of every human person. Our focus is on those individuals, children, families, and communities struggling with poverty and the effects of intolerance and racism.
